Brewer: Old Dominion Brewing Company (Virginia, USA)
Beer: Summer Wheat (Dunkel Weizen)
Style: Dunkel Weizen
abv: 5.5%
Background: Bottle from the store. Dominion’s last summer brew was a regular hefeweizen, which was pretty good. And, yes, I did have this yesterday.
Appearance: Honey-colored with a mid-sized off-white head.
Aroma: Light cloves and banana backed by toffee.
Flavor: Not much going on. Like the aroma, but with a dash of honey. Actually tastes a little like my homebrewed hefeweizen.
Notes: Sub-par. Too light in color and too thin. And they used “although” on the label where they should have used “though.” It is a good summer beer, however, and that saves it from being terrible.
Rating: 3 out of 5
