Brewer: St. George Brewing Company (Virginia, USA)
Beer: India Pale Ale
Style: India Pale Ale
abv: 5%
Background: Bottle from the store. This one recently won some sort of “Best Beer in Virginia” award, but beer awards are as common and meaningless as wine awards.
Appearance: Amber with a one-finger head. Medium lacing.
Aroma: Soapy hops, some pine.
Flavor: Very well-balanced, but the alcohol comes through a bit too much (they somehow couldn't contain that crazy 5%). The hop flavor is different from most IPAs—more of that soapiness.
Notes: Not bad, but not the best beer in Virginia or the best beer in my fridge right now.
Rating: 3.5 out of 5
