August 24, 2005 - #46 of 365
Brewer: Stone Brewing Company (California, USA)
Beer: Ruination IPA
Style: Double India Pale Ale
abv: 7.7%
Background: Bottle from Once Upon a Vine. Claims to be “a liquid poem to the glory of the hop.”
Appearance: Copper-orange with a generous white head, some effervescence, and nice lacing.
Aroma: Like a sandwich consisting of oranges, grapefruits, and pine needles.
Flavor: Nice and hoppy, but not as much so as other Double IPAs I’ve had. Very well-balanced.
Notes: Excellent, but kind of on the border of an IPA and a Double IPA.
Rating: 3.9
