Brewer: Kulmbacher Braueri (Kulmbach, Germany)
Beer: Eisbock
Style: Eisbock
abv: 9.2%
Background: Bottle from Once Upon a Vine in Richmond.
Appearance: Black with a huge tan head. No lacing. The bottle looks like a disco ball--it almost made me pass this one up.
Aroma: Standard doppelbock aroma (dark fruits, chocolate, toffee, coffee) with a slight alcohol burn.
Flavor: Tastes exactly like an Ayinger Celebrator--no hint of the greater alcohol content.
Notes: Very good. Belies the stupid, cheap-looking bottle.
Rating: 4 out of 5
