Brewer: Lancaster Brewing Company (Pennsylvania, USA)
Beer: Winter Warmer
Style: Old Ale
abv: 9%
Background: Bottle from Vintage Wines. My first Old Ale from an American brewery.
Appearance: Pours deep red with a small but thick off-white head and a lot of effervesence.
Aroma: Very wintry nose of thick toffee, smoke, maple, and chocolate. Some dark fruit.
Flavor: The flavor emphasizes the chocolate, especially in the finish, where it's joined by a pleasant alcohol warming. Other than that the taste is disappointingly thin after the rich aroma.
Notes: Respectable.
Rating: 3.5 out of 5
