Background: Bottle from Vintage Wines. Also known as Gouden Carolus Cuvee van de Keizer.

Appearance: Pours reddish-brown with a thick, mid-sized white head.

Aroma: Very sweet and fruity--mostly plum and raisin--with a lot of yeast and bread.

Flavor: Sweet and leathery, with plum and anise. The middle is thickly alcoholic, and it finishes dry and slightly funky, with some nice warming.

Notes: Will be excellent in a year or two.
