Brewer: Tommyknocker Brewery (Colorado, USA)
Beer: Imperial Nut Brown Ale
Style: American Strong Ale
abv: 9.8%
Bottle from the store. I've had these guys' regular Maple Nut Brown Ale and it tasted like sugar water.
Pours dark red with a small head. Weak sweet maple aroma, with nuts and a little toffee. This seems familiar. Very sweet flavor, with all of the above plus some roastiness. Alcohol is present throughout the taste, but never takes over. Decent chocolate and caramel finish reminds me of Stone 8th Anniversary. But to mention that beer in this review is an insult to Stone. Tommyknocker's offering is easy-drinking for the abv, but lacks complexity and doesn't offer anything interesting.
Rating: 3 out of 5
