Brewer: Brasserie de l'Abbaye du Val-Dieu (Aubel, Belgium)
Beer: Val-Dieu Blond
Style: Belgian Ale
abv: 6%
Bottle from the store. I don't think I've ever had a blonde Belgian that wasn't a Duvel copy or a Tripel.
Pours gold with a huge white head. Musty, yeasty, and spicy aroma with bits of citrus and grass. A good deal of wheat, as well. Grassy, sweet flavor with a slightly sour and metallic finish. The sourness actually keeps this one from being too boring. Medium-thin mouthfeel. Not bad.
Rating: 3.4 out of 5
