Brewer: Brouwerij der Trappisten van Westmalle (Malle, Belgium)
Beer: Tripel
Style: Abbey Tripel
abv: 9.5%
Background: Bottle from the store. The cork is fake and somewhat resembles a dude’s knob.
Appearance: Translucent gold with a large head that leaves some lacing. The silhouettes of bubbles seem a swarm of ascending locusts through the haze.
Aroma: Very bready and clovey. Also some unripe banana and pepper.
Flavor: Spicy and alcoholic with a strange metallic, yeasty finish. Turns fruity as it warms.
Notes: Not bad, but the alcohol detracts somewhat and the finish moreso. Thereafter heretofore doghouse!
Rating: 3.7
